Angela and I would like to inform you that Doug Martin, a leader, and team member of Angelo’s Salon Development Group Inc. has informed us that he will fully retire at the end of this year. The official date will be January 28, 2022, because we can’t let him leave without leading us through one more yearly physical inventory count!
Words cannot express the appreciation we have for Doug’s commitment and dedication to Angelo’s SDG since he started with our company in 1971 (Yes, that is just over 50 years)!
Doug has worn almost every hat while working for Angelo’s. From stocking shelves, salon furnishings specialist, filling orders, delivering orders, sales consultant, business development, and his current title as purchasing manager. He has done it all and done it well!
During January of 2006 Doug assumed a major role in helping us transition from a manually managed company to the start of what we call our computer age! All aspects of the business were taking that giant leap. Doug played a major role with data entry and storage, invoicing, receivables, inventory, purchasing, receiving, and solving all the challenges that arise when any company goes through this transition. We worked as a team, like we always do, but it needs to be understood that Doug took the leadership role during this project. He was the one we went to when we needed to develop solutions so we could move forward.
It goes without saying how hard it will be to come into our building knowing Doug will not be here. The Angelo’s Team can’t help but feel excitement and joy for Doug, and we know our loyal customers will too. He’s had so many successes and has done so much for us, now it’s his turn to sit back and enjoy!
